Reeves Performance Unveils New Ride

Chevy Reeves; a rising star in the drag racing world, is set to take the Street Outlaws No Prep Kings series by storm in 2025 with his new ride, aptly named ‘THE YETI’. This beastly 1970 Chevelle, inspired by the mythological winter creature of the North, was meticulously crafted by Cameron Johnson Race Cars in Lakeland, Florida, specifically for the No Prep Kings series.

The ‘YETI’ is a powerhouse on wheels, featuring a Pro Line Racing MH7 billet Hemi engine that churns out an astonishing 3,400-3,500 horsepower. Equipped with a ProCharger F4-140-1 supercharger and an M&M Transmission’s Turbo 400 transmission. This car is built for speed and performance. The Chevelle prominently boasts carbon-fiber doors and a front clip from Glasstek, along with top-of-the-line safety equipment from White Safety Equipment.

Reeves Performance Racing has been a cornerstone in the motorsports community since its inception in 1996. This family-owned and operated team, led by owner Rob Reeves and wife Kimberly, have built a legacy of passion and excellence in racing as long-time track owners and race enthusiasts. Featuring the likes of Sprint Cars, Drifting, and Drag Racing, their dedication and love for motorsports has driven them to numerous successes at the track, making them a respected name in the industry. With their son Chevy in the driver’s seat, the next chapter in their motorsport adventure begins, promising even more excitement and achievements.

Chevy jumped into his first Junior Dragster at age 10. He quickly embraced the camaraderie and competition. Over the years, Chevy’s passion for speed has grown, fuelled by determination, a steep learning curve, and hands-on commitment. Since 2017, he has been running Top Dragster, regularly competing in the various West Coast Big Money Bracket programs and participating in various regional and national events.

Chevy’s achievements are a testament to his dedication and skill. He has consistently demonstrated prowess on the track, earning multiple championships and accolades. His journey from entry level Junior racing to a formidable competitor in the Top Dragster/Bracket category showcases his relentless pursuit of excellence. Chevy’s ability to adapt and excel in various racing formats highlights his versatility and commitment.

The Street Outlaws No Prep Kings series exploded onto the scene with the goal of showcasing the gritty, unrefined spirit of street racing to a wider audience. Emerging from the underground street racing culture, the series rapidly gained popularity thanks to its distinctive format—racing on unprepped tracks.  In 2025 the immensely popular series returns with louder call-outs, larger excitement, with high risks and even higher rewards.

With The YETI Chevelle scheduled to arrive in Alberta in early September to begin testing, Chevy is ready to chase the Street Outlaws No Prep Kings series across the continent, bringing his lifelong dedication and competitive spirit to the forefront of the racing world. Stay tuned as Chevy and The YETI make their mark on the drag racing scene.
