If you’ve been watching the chatter, speculation, and a touch of melodrama surrounding the recent announcements about The Speed Promotions Outlaws No Prep Series, this note is for you! Motorsports has always been a world of noise, speed, and raw passion—a world that the Reeves family knows all too well. But lately, there’s been a lot of theories, and, let’s call it what it is, armchair nonsense. Allow us to cut through the noise and set the record straight. Spoiler alert: we’re not here to play by anyone’s script.

At Reeves Performance, motorsports isn’t just a momentary whim—it’s family. For over three and a half decades, the Reeves family has been deeply immersed in the racing world. My husband, Rob, and I spent 26 years running one of Canada’s largest motorsports facilities in Edmonton, Alberta, while raising our son Chevy (quite literally a “track” kid). Not many kids can say their first memories involve the roar of engines and the smell of burning rubber, but for Chevy, that was just a regular Saturday. Ironically, Chevy’s now the General Manager of the very racetrack he grew up on—some people just can’t escape destiny.

Although we left racetrack ownership behind, our passion never wavered. Rob and I spent years dreaming of running our own team, and now, with HelluvaChevy at the helm, that dream is a reality—a family-driven, passion-fueled motorsports venture. And let’s just say, we don’t do things halfway.

Our relationship with The Outlaws NPK didn’t start with the purchase of the 1970 Chevelle Yeti. Long before that, Chevy had been fostering relationships to bring this incredible series to Canadian audiences. The drivers, the teams, the community—it all resonated deeply with us. So, we made a decision: The Speed Promotions Outlaws No Prep Series would be our entry point into the world of team ownership. When the opportunity arose, we jumped in—no contracts, no illusions, just a desire to race hard and dream big. For the record: we race for the purse. If we win, we celebrate (with style). If we lose, we still succeed—as a family, as a business, and as motorsport enthusiasts.

Yes, it’s a business. But it’s also personal. We’re committed to racing with integrity, building strong partnerships, and engaging with our fans and communities. Change can be daunting, but we’re confident in the direction The Speed Promotions Outlaws Series is heading, and at Reeves Performance, we’re “all in” and we’re here to play the long game; it’s going to be one helluva ride.
Now, let’s address the proverbial elephant on the track: IHRA and their No Time Kings events. To be clear, we hold nothing but respect for IHRA, For the Reeves family, the IHRA holds a special place in our hearts. In fact, our Edmonton facility hosted Canada’s first IHRA National Event in 2003, and we enjoyed a positive relationship for over a decade. Will we compete in IHRA’s events? Absolutely—when our Speed Promotions Outlaws schedule allows. Same goes for SWANFest and any other motorsport events that align with our goals. Racing runs in our blood, and we’re here to support the sport in all its forms. We know that the road ahead won’t always be easy. There will be challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt. But there will also be triumphs, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Finally, for the armchair critics bemoaning the travel schedule, a special shoutout to our rockstar Hauler Driver, Jeff Sams, who’ll clock over 17,000 miles this season without a single gripe (so far). We’re coming all the way from Edmonton, Alberta—the halfway point between Austin, Texas, and Anchorage, Alaska—and we still couldn’t be more excited.
At Reeves Performance, we’re fueled by passion, integrity, and a love for racing. We’re here to make friends, build relationships, and—if we play our cards right—cross the finish line as champions. We want to thank our supporters, our partners, and the motorsports community as a whole. Your encouragement, enthusiasm, and belief in our vision mean the world to us.
Thank you for joining us on this journey.
Let’s go Racing!
