Welcome to the Big Leagues
We finally made it. After months of grinding, testing, and winter, Helluvachevy hit the track as an official member of the Outlaw 32 at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California—Chevy rolled in as a rookie, and by the time the dust settled, he walked away with a foothold in sixth place in the Outlaw 32 points standings.

Thursday was all about setting up shop. The heat was brutal—100 degrees in the shade, and shade was hard to come by. Thank God for tents. We parked among the veterans, the guys we’ve admired for years, and it was both intimidating and electrifying. Champions and seasoned pros all around us. We weren’t as prepared as we wanted to be, but no amount of shop time can teach the lessons you learn at the track. The learning curve… It’s steep, but we’re climbing fast.
Making Fast Friends in the Pits
Luck landed us next to another young gun—Cole Pesz, and the Cody Cattle Company Eleanor Mustang. At 24 years old, Cole’s the only other guy Chevy’s age out here running with the Outlaws. It didn’t take long for the teams and families to click. We shared meals, swapped parts, even pitched in with lighting when our own hadn’t arrived yet. Late-night wrench sessions, good conversation, mutual respect, and maybe a few cold ones—this is what Outlaw racing is all about.

The crew was also joined by good friend and fellow Alberta Bracket Racer Dalton Gareau, who made the trip from Edmonton to share in the inaugural weekend. Between rounds, Dalton jumped in to help wrench on the car, and somewhere along the way, found his true calling as lead merch guy—turns out the “HC” has a real way with people.
Friday: Beat the Champ for $10K
The heat didn’t let up, and neither did we. Fans started rolling in at noon, lining up to grab Helluvachevy merch, autographs, and selfies with Chevy and the infamous 1970 ‘YETI’ Chevelle. Experiencing that level of support was unreal—fans who have been with us from the start, standing strong behind Helluvachevy.

Chip draw at 4 p.m. put Chevy against Paige Coughlin. Staging lanes were a furnace, a two-hour grind waiting for our moment. Track incidents from the L’il Gangstas stretched the delays, but we kept focus. Chevy took the win thanks to Paige’s red light—a break, but a win is a win.
Round two—Chevy vs. Cole. Friend, rival, competitor. Track conditions were tough, and both drivers had to pedal down track. Cole edged the win, but the sight of these two young drivers battling under the lights was something special.
The unpredictability of the track proved very difficult when Kayla Morton’s car met the wall in a ball of fire. She walked away unscathed, but the wreck was a stark reminder—drag racing doesn’t play favorites. Even the best gets caught in the chaos.
Saturday: The $40K Outlaws 32 Event
Better track conditions. Bigger stakes. More fans showing up bright and early. The atmosphere was electric, and we were ready.
Chip draw at 2 p.m.—Chevy vs. veteran racer and World Series of Pro Mod Champion; Mike Bowman. Chevelle on Chevelle crime. The kind of match-up that makes fans lean in. Chevy took the win, proving that while we’re new, we aren’t here to play second fiddle.
Second round? A showdown with Outlaw legend Disco Dean in his unmistakable hot pink Bandit. Disco took the win, but we didn’t roll over easy. Chevy held his own, and that alone was enough to silence anyone who thought we didn’t deserve to be here.

The night ended with Nate Sayler taking the $40K win against Scott Taylor—a fitting end to a weekend full of high-octane competition.
Media Spotlight
Chevy didn’t just make noise on the track—he made noise off it too. Over the weekend, he was invited to take part in multiple interviews and joined forces with No Prep social media dominators like Dynamic Range Ltd., Chris the ‘Stat Guy’, Markale Epps (Radical Speed), & Upshift360. Getting the spotlight, sharing the experience, and bringing fans deeper into the world of Outlaw racing. The Helluvachevy You Tube Channel jumped to over 10,000 subscribers over the weekend, with nearly 1000 news Fans joining the adventure over the past few days.

More Than Just Racing
One thing was clear: Outlaw racing isn’t just about the competition—it’s about the people. From Scott Taylor’s wife Heather, who welcomed us into the pit, to Sunny Huber and his son Trevor ‘mega fan’ and his family, who swung by multiple times to share their support, we felt at home. The fans, the teams, the rivalries—it’s all part of the brotherhood.
And of course, Chevy and Cole decided the weekend deserved a proper send-off. The teams came together, cold beers cracked open, Waylon Jennings blasting. It lasted until Chevy’s mom shut it down at 1 a.m.—a perfect way to close out a helluva weekend. The message was clear: racing is family.
Next Stop: Virginia
The hauler’s rolling toward Virginia with a pit stop in Indiana to grab the new trailer from Bruce Litton Trailer Sales. By the time we hit the next race, we’ll have new merch, fresh fire, and an even bigger drive to keep making a name for ourselves.
We’re here. We’re ready. And we’re just getting started. Grab your tickets now for the next event at Virginia Motorsports Park on May 30-31—it’s only a few short weeks away!
