If you had told us at the start of the season that The YETI would leave Bakersfield sitting in sixth place, we probably would’ve laughed. But here we are. What started as a rookie season meant for learning turned into a major upset, with many of the Outlaws veterans tapping out early. And leading the charge? Chevy Reeves @Helluvachevy—the underdog crew shaking things up in ways no one saw coming.

But we’re not just here to soak up the moment—we’re headed straight for Virginia Motorsports Park next, and that’s where things get serious. This isn’t just some random track on the circuit; Virginia is one of the best race surfaces in North America. It’s got a long history of high-performance drag racing, which means everyone rolling up is coming ready to throw down.
And if you ask Crew Chief Dean Bettenson, this track isn’t just another stop on the tour—it’s his absolute favorite. That’s saying something. When your crew chief has a track they swear by, you know the team is coming in locked and loaded.
The Road Trip Bonus—New Trailer & Merch Tent Debut!
The trip from California to Virginia came with a pretty significant pit stop. Four days after the race at Famoso Dragway, hauler driver and crew legend Jeff Sams made a key stop at Bruce Litton Trailers in Indiana. And let’s just say—we came out of there with a game-changer.

Yep, we finally have a brand-new race trailer, and it’s a beauty. Fresh decals, slick setup, and ready to roll out at Virginia Motorsports Park. There’s still some work to do—figuring out where parts, tools, and merch are gonna live—but that’s just part of the deal.
But that’s not all. Along with the new trailer, we’re also rolling out our new merch tents and displays at Virginia. Thanks to Red Tide Canopy—and a solid recommendation from Jeff Lutz—we grabbed the NPK special, and we have zero regrets. The renderings and photos look amazing, but we can’t wait to see what the fans think in person.

And what’s a fresh setup without fresh merch? Turns out, our Kids Ice Cold Awesome T-shirt by Durward wasn’t just a hit with the kids—it’s become one of our most requested items from adults, too. No complaints there—we’ll have plenty in stock at VMP!

We’re also rolling out new Ladies Tees featuring the “OG” Yeti, because everyone deserves a little Helluvachevy in their wardrobe.
And if you can’t make it to Virginia, don’t sweat it—you can grab Helluvachevy swag anytime at the Shop.
What’s the Play at Virginia?
After Bakersfield, Virginia is gonna feel like an even playing field. No crazy heat, no brutal track conditions—just straight-up racing, where skill and strategy will make or break the competition.
That’s where things get interesting. VMP favors quick-shot nitrous cars, which raises the big question—will The YETI make the switch?
The official answer? “I’m not sure yet.”
Truth is, it’s a tough call. Making a major switch mid-season isn’t something you just throw money at—it’s got to be smart. Helluvachevy came into this season to learn, not to go all-in on reckless changes. That’s why crew chief Dean Bettenson is gonna be the one making the big calls on upgrades. And given that this is his favorite track, you better believe he’s watching every detail like a hawk.
For now? Chevy Reeves is sticking to the plan.
More Than Just Racing—Joining the Community
It’s not just about the competition—we’re excited to get to know our new community of racers and fans. Building friendships, learning from veterans, and forming new rivalries are just as important as what happens on the strip.

We’re definitely hoping to be pitted alongside Cole Pesz and the Cody Cattle Company’s Elenore. Chevy’s mom has a bit of an adoptive son crush on Cole, so that might just make him family at this point. But let’s be real—Cole and the Cody Cattle Team aren’t just good company, they’re serious competition.
Let’s see if the boys can take it all the way to the final. And Cole—please don’t hit us with the 2-minute warning. We’re Canadian, and by rights, we should be entitled to 3 minutes and 14 seconds (you know, the Canadian exchange rate).
