Chevy Reeves

Chevy Reeves

Chevy has been neck-deep in the motorsport world since birth. Literally. Born in 2000 during Canada’s biggest one-day drag racing event, Hot August Night, Chevy entered the world with engines roaring as his lullaby. As the offspring of RAD Torque Raceway’s former Track Owner/Operators, Rob and Kimberly Reeves, Chevy was back at the track within 72 hours of his grand entrance, living life loud and in the driver’s seat from day one.

Every summer was spent at the track, and by age 10, Chevy was already tearing it up in his first Junior Dragster. He quickly got hooked on the camaraderie and competition of drag racing within the Nitro Ratz Junior Dragster program, snagging his first championship at age 12. Chevy’s life has been one high-speed adventure after another. Really, who needs a normal childhood when you can have one filled with the smell of burning rubber and the roar of engines?

Over the years, Chevy’s need for speed only grew, fueled by sheer determination, a steep learning curve, hands-on commitment, and a lot of ‘flipping the bird’. Since 2017, he’s been running a Top Dragster, regularly competing in the regional bracket programs and making appearances at various big dollar bracket national events. In 2017, Chevy was crowned Top Eliminator Rookie of the Year, fully embracing life at full throttle. Because, why take it slow when you can live life in the fast lane?

Next up in his motorsport saga, Chevy plans to up the ante by jumping into a full-body 200MPH beast, gearing up to dominate the Street Outlaws No Prep Kings competition. These premier events, hosted across North America, feature unprepared track conditions that mimic real-world street racing scenarios. Because, why not make things even more intense? After all, who needs a smooth ride when you can have the thrill of dodging potholes at breakneck speeds? Chevy’s ready to take on the chaos, because anything less would just be too easy.

Rob Reeves

Rob Reeves

Team Owner

Rob Reeves is the epitome of dedication as a father, husband, and team owner, renowned for his zen-like calm and razor-sharp business skills. Once a sprint car racer, Rob is basically a Canadian motorsport legend. He spent 26 years running Canada’s most comprehensive race facility, because why not? Now, he’s taken his vast motorsports experience and shifted gears from track owner to team owner, all while chasing his lifelong passion for motorsports. And, of course, he’s doing it alongside his family and friends, because who else would put up with his obsession?

Kimberly Reeves

Kimberly Reeves

Team Manager

Kimberly Reeves, the Mother and team manager, is the ultimate force of nature, known for her iron will and uncanny ability to make everyone play nice. A lifelong motorsport enthusiast, she’s over the moon to see her son’s dream of competing in the NPK come true. With her illustrious past as a motorsport facility operator, she brings top-notch marketing and promotional skills to the table. Kimberly is on a mission to enhance fan, guest, and sponsor relations, always striving to create a fun and exciting atmosphere for her family and the HelluvaChevy Fans. Because, let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to be part of this wild ride?

Dean Bettenson

Dean Bettenson

Crew Chief

Dean Bettenson is a devoted family man and a racing legend, blessed with a wife who must have the patience of a saint. Since kicking off his racing career in 2007 as a bracket racer, he’s racked up four WCPM Championships, because apparently, winning just once wasn’t enough. Now, Dean is taking a breather from the Pro Mod driver’s seat to dive into the world of aftermarket snowmobile engine development—because nothing screams “Canadian roots” like tinkering with snowmobiles. On top of that, he’s generously decided to mentor a young, eager racer, hoping to guide them into the NPK winners circle. Because, you know, why not add “mentor” to his already overflowing resume?

Colin Reeves

Colin Reeves

Media/Content Creator

Colin Reeves is one helluva supportive brother, not to mention a top-notch husband and father. Resourceful and dedicated, Colin might seem quiet and reserved, but don’t be fooled—he’s an enthusiastic entrepreneur at heart. He brings his “dynamic” content skills to the team’s media and marketing efforts, because who else could make racing look this good? Colin can’t wait to hang with his bro and spin the family saga on the road to NPK victory. After all, someone’s gotta document the chaos, right?

Jeff Sams

Jeff Sams

Crew & Hauler Driver

We’re excited to welcome Jeffery Sams as our Crew and Hauler Driver! (a.k.a. the guy responsible for making sure we—and all our stuff—actually show up). Hailing from Indiana, Jeff brings decades of motorsports experience, rubbing elbows with legends and turning wrenches like it’s a competitive sport. Introduced by Crew Chief Dean Bettenson, Jeff’s journey spans from working with legends like Arnie “the Farmer” Beswick to excelling in the racing industry. His family values align perfectly with ours, and we’re thrilled to have him on board as we kick off the NPK season in May. Let’s see if Jeff can keep up with this high-octane, no-crayon-eating team. Spoiler alert: We think he’s got it in the bag. Welcome aboard, Jeff!
